Mouska-Love

credits: Chocolate Lover by Sev (Digital Crea); Alpha Use by Mimilou (Digital Crea); Mickey ears found at http://www.party-favors.biz/GlowLites/mickey-mouse-ears.jpg; Minnie bow found at http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/img-thing?.out=jpg&size=l&tid=2727987; editing done with PSE6

For those of you who do not watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on a regular basis, Mickey can get away with adding "mouska" before anything so I figured why can't I?!?

I had scrapped this photo before just after Halloween but I was never very happy with that page. So, a Kissing Children challenge at SBF finally gave me the motivation to do it over! Below is the original page, I remember that I didn't want to do much because I didn't want to take away from the adorable photo but I think the problem was that I defintely didn't do enough. I hope you agree that the new one is much better!

He Said, "Mom"

credits: A Countryside Spirit by Fanette Design (Digital Crea); quote spoken by the character Angela in the TV show "My So-Called Life"; editing done with PSE6

I made this page for an "Interpret This Quote" challenge on SBF. The quote is: "Sometimes someone says something really small, and it just fits right into this empty place in your heart."

The first thing I thought of when I read this quote was my children. "Mom" is literally a really small thing but it has SO much meaning and fills my heart everytime I hear it. This photo was taken at my wedding and it's one my favs, I love the candid aspect of it and I think it really captures the love between me and my son. :)

The Birthday Girl!

credits: An Oscraps special offer kit by Sue Cummings; ribbon from Magic Birthday a collab kit between Dydyge, Loloden and Seni (Digital Crea); edited with PSE6

Poor Luna, I always forget her birthday is in June too (Isabella is the only outcast in this family to NOT have a June birthday!) until her annual birthday card from Petco arrives. That day was today and as I opened it up, I saw the hats from Gavin's birthday still sitting on the counter. I couldn't resist, I don't think Luna was too amused by it though!

Luna really is wearing the hat in the photo - to create the OOB effect (Out-of-Bounds), I made two copies of the photo and cropped one to fit the frame while extracting just the hat out of the second.

Below is the same page with a thought bubble added. I wanted to make the page a little more humorous for a funny cats challenge at SBF!

It's Tough Being 2

credits: Magic Birthday a collab kit between Dydyge, Loloden and Seni (Digital Crea); pictures taken by The Picture People on 6/4/09; edited with PSE6

Everytime I think a photo session with these children can't get any worse... they do! Usually when they don't behave, they're able to get at least one good shot... not this time! Gavin cried the ENTIRE time but as soon as he'd step off the backdrop, he'd smile... the little stinker...

Four Generations

credits: Concentre de douceur by Sev (Digital Crea); "love" from Playing with Word Art Vol 2 by Natali Designs (Scrapbook Graphics); editing done with PSE6

So in a recent post, I had expressed how anxious I was to have a new 4 generations picture taken and here it is!!! I'm so happy about this, YAY! This is my grandmother, my mother, myself and my daughter taken on May 30th at a baby shower for my cousin. Don't be too easily fooled by Isabella's little innocent smile however. She is going through another 'don't take my picture' phase right now and so the original shot looked like this:

Don't ask me what steps I actually took to give Isabella her new face because I did a lot of different things until I thought it finally looked believable! I do know I started by cropping and placing her head from another picture on a layer above this one. Next, I reduced the opacity and lined up her facial features. I put the opacity back to 100 and began using the soft eraser to remove everything I didn't need. The second photo's lighting was slightly different so I know I adjusted that as well. When I finally felt I was finished, I merged my two layers together and had my new perfect generations photo!

Angelina's Baby Eyes

credits: Baby's Dream by Mlle Heloise (Digital Crea); Playing with Word Art vol8 by Natali Designs (Scrapbook Graphics); editing done with PSE6

Below is the original picture I used on this page. I wanted the focus to be on Angelia's beautiful eyes, which I felt lucky to catch on camera, so I turned the photo to b&w and turned up both the brightness and contrast all the way (150 for brightness/100 for contrast). To make her eyes stand just a little more, I extracted them from the photo in color, turned the opacity to 25% and upped the saturation just a little.

Welcome Baby Angelina!

credits: Little Miracle and Playing with Word Art vol 8 both by Natali Designs (Scrapbook Graphics); Date me by Karine (Digital Crea); larger leaves from Princess Story by Galiscrap (Digital Crea); editing done with PSE6

This is the first of many pages which will be made for my new niece, Angelina! She arrived Saturday May 30 at 5:14 AM, 8 lb .4 oz and 21 in long! She finally gets to come home today after spending time on a light for jaundice. I've only been able to hold her once for a few minutes so far because of this, can't wait to see her again tomorrow! :)
