From the Atlantic... to the Pacific!

Yes, life has been pretty hectic around here the past few months but still this summer, my family was fortunate enough to also be able to kick back and relax (somewhat!) on two wonderful vacations... and as the title tells - we traveled all the way from the Atlantic to the Pacific!

First in July, we spent a few days hanging out at Rehoboth Beach in Delaware and then just a couple short weeks later in August, we visited the beach at Santa Barbara, California! Below are two pages showcasing this awesome opportunity Isabella and Gavin were able to share together this summer!

Picture Perfect

Just wanted to assure you all that I am still alive and scrappin' over here... just not as much as I'd like to be since the new job has started. I snapped this pic of the kiddos today and loved it, definitely convinced me to just take a break, sit down and make a page... now, off to bed - it's past my bedtime!

I originally scrapped this photo over a year ago (see below) but was never happy with it. When I came across the same quote that I used back then in a new wordart pack I just bought, I was inspired to try it again... and I am MUCH happier with this result! This is one of my fav pics of the kids together! :)

For those of you who do not watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on a regular basis, Mickey can get away with adding "mouska" before anything so I figured why can't I?!?

I had scrapped this photo before just after Halloween but I was never very happy with that page. So, a Kissing Children challenge at SBF finally gave me the motivation to do it over! Below is the original page, I remember that I didn't want to do much because I didn't want to take away from the adorable photo but I think the problem was that I defintely didn't do enough. I hope you agree that the new one is much better!

Sibling Love

So, I had a little break from scrapping this weekend and let me tell you how hard it was to get back into it again today! I started about 4 or 5 different pages, with different kits, different pictures, before this one finally started coming together... it was SO frustrating! Needless to say, it felt wonderful when when I finally completed this page!

This picture was taken on Saturday (5/23) in the backyard at my father-in-law's house, the kids had a great time running around there. They thought they were hot stuff being able to open and close the sliding doors all by themselves and go in and out as they pleased! I have so many pics just like this one... as here, Isabella will ask me to take a picture, give her brother a great big hug, cheese for the camera and Gavin will well - look miserable! I've titled this page, Sibling Love. It may not look like love judging by his face but the fact that he tolerates this shows it defintely is... whether he likes it or not!!!

Getting Published!

I was super psyched the first time I found out that pages of mine were going to be published in the Scrapbooking Ezine, Scrap N' Art. The first thing people asked me was, what do you get for that? Well, the answer is nothing but pride and that's just fine with me! I was proud that someone thought my work was good enough to be showcased in this wonderful place. And so far, every time I've submitted pages for consideration, some have been chosen! The funny thing to me though is that these first two pages, seen in the January/February 09 edition, are older pages of mine and aren't exactly what I would think of as my 'best' work... oh well, who am I to decide I guess! The first page was chosen for a section dedicated to journaling and the second one was chosen for 'green' pages.
