My Layout

This was the first time I caught this little cutie's smile on camera so of course I had to scrap it asap! I actually came across this quote yesterday and thought it would go perfect here, Angelina and I may not be able to 'talk' to each other just yet but we both understand what a smile means! :)

One Year Later

It's hard to believe that last year at this time, I didn't even have the time to scrap because I was too busy planning our wedding! One year of marriage later (five and half years together total) and we're still just has happy! :)

The Dollhouse

credits: A Day in the Garden by Maelia Designs and Fanette (Digital Crea); edited with PSE6

As the journaling explains... My grandfather made this dollhouse for me when I was 5 years old. When we moved into our new house, I decided it was time to pass it on to Isabella - only 20 years later! My grandfather passed away from lung cancer in November of 2004, so he never got the chance to meet my children. With their little spunky attitudes, we all know he would have just LOVED them! And seeing Isabella play with this dollhouse would have just made his heart glow! It really means a lot to me to see how much she really loves playing with it.

My original idea when starting this page was to use a photo of myself when I received the dollhouse. After trying many different layouts, I just couldn't decide on something I liked. Below was the closest I got. I decided I'd post that too since I put so much effort into it before just giving up and removing the photo all together!

Gavin's First Haircut

credits: So Funky by Chriscrap (Digital Crea); edited with PSE6

I was a little sad to say goodbye to Gavin's curls but it was time. I know he doesn't look too happy here but he was actually really well behaved for his first haircut! And can you believe that I forgot my camera?!? So this photo is from my phone which made it a little hard to work with... grrr... silly old mommy, as Isabella would say!

Probably the most simple page I've ever done... but what more do you need with a photo like that?!?

The Perfect Pair!

Lauren in my husband's cousin and Dave is actually our mortgage guy (and his brother was our realtor too!)... they were married this past Friday and everything was just absolutely beautiful! I'm sure I won't be able to resist making a few more pages for them!

Gavin and his cousin AJ goofing around on the Fourth of July... just love this pic! I picked up this kit at Digital Crea awhile ago as soon as I saw it, I hate that boy themed kits are so hard to find!

My Little Beauty

What a little diva, right?!? For the past couple weeks, the only thing this girl wants to wear is her princess outfits... and she wears them everywhere, including outdoors to go play which is why she has her glasses on here, she just cracks me up!

How I created the reflection: Obviously, the first thing I did was extract my image. Next, I duplicated the image and flipped it vertically. I then 'transformed' the flipped image by holding down the CTRL key, clicking on the lower left corner and dragging it to the left. Finally, I blended the flipped photo onto the background. In this case, I actually used two layers for the blending. I first used overlay which I liked but because I had such a light background, it was a little difficult to see. So I made a second layer of the image on top of that, left it normal and reduced the opacity to 10%. As I always say, blending takes a lot of trial and error in every project and it may not work for you the same way it worked for me!

Summer Lovin'

Finally, my children have a backyard of their own to play in whenever they want and they LOVE it! And I think that's pretty obvious from these pics which were taken while they played in their little blow up pool our first week here!

Our New Rooms!

credits: Pour Toi by Moi (Digital Crea); editing done with PSE6

Finally, time for some scraps of the new house! Journaling reads: The move to the new house was not a problem for you at all. On the first night, you were so excited about your new princess room that you climbed right into bed and fell fast asleep without making a peep!

credits: Pour Toi by Moi (colors edited - Digital Crea); editing done with PSE6

Journaling reads: This wasn’t only your first night in our new house but it was also your first night in a big boy bed & your first night without your big sister in the same room as you. No wonder you stood at your door & cried for about 30 minutes. When I heard the crying stop, I came in & found you sound asleep just like this. No worries... by night #3, you had it down like a pro!
